Introducing: Nikol + Aaron

It is our pleasure to introduce the lovely Nikol + Aaron. We canNOT get over how much love and laughter these two share, and how well Sarah Schweyer Photography captured their chemistry. Let us tell you, Nikol + Aaron share a one of a kind love and we are honored to be their planner, and their friend! From the way they met, to how they got engaged, their love is truly one for the books.

EBR: So first and foremost, start us from the beginning. How did you two meet?

Nikol + Aaron: “Aaron and I met at “Our House,” a bar in Davis, California. At the time, Aaron was attending UCD and I was attending Cal Poly. I was born and raised in Davis so I came home to visit and went out with one of my friends on a Saturday night. Towards the end of the night I saw Aaron walk-in.”

“I saw him from across the way and asked my friend, “who is that?” He said “I don’t know” and I boldly pointed at Aaron and reeled him in with my finger. Aaron looked from side to side to see if I was pointing at someone behind him. He realized it was me pointing at him and walked over to me. The first words that came out of my mouth were “you are so sexy.” He said “thank you, you are too. Want to dance?” and I said yes. It was the last song the bar played that night and the song was “Who Booty” by Jonn Hart. After the dance, Aaron asked for my phone number. The rest is history!”

EBR: Nikol can you describe the moment you realized he was the one? Aaron what about you, when did you realize Nikol was the one?

Nikol:  “Aaron and I have been living together for almost five years. There wasn’t an exact moment that I realized he was the one but in the early stages of living with him, I realized I couldn’t’ live without him! We are super compatible and he is kind, generous, and super loving to both me and Kona! We love spending time together and going on crazy adventures. He also makes popcorn in the whirly pop every night which I’m obsessed with 🙂 He is driven in his career and will be a wonderful father. He’s just the best!”

Aaron: “I can’t say there was a particular moment or day that I suddenly realized Nikol was the one i want to spend the rest of my life with – I would describe it more of a journey. Our relationship has been comprised of many many moments combined to roll up into an amazing partnership. Nikol understands me, we have a ton of fun together, we laugh together, and our views on life are aligned in a way that I know will lend to a wonderful life. I can’t wait to build a family together and explore what this world has to offer with my best friend.”

EBR: And of course we have to hear the proposal story! Aaron if you’d like to share, we would love to hear your perspective and your preparation for the proposal. However either side or a mix of the two is just as great 🙂

Aaron and/or Nikol: “The proposal happened on March 31st, 2017. We had a family party on Saturday, April 1st at our house and I (Nikol) had a slight inkling that he might propose that day in front of my family. However, he surprised me by doing it Friday night before the party.

I came home late from a concert at my dad’s in Davis (we live in Fremont). When pulled up and the house was dark. I walked in through the garage and I immediately realized there was little paper hearts on the ground and candles on – I also immediately started crying. Next, I followed the paper hearts (each said something sweet about our relationship) which lead me to the living room. In the living room, Aaron was standing. Aaron spent three minutes talking to me about why he wants to marry me and then went down on one knee and asked me to marry him!

After I said yes, my dog, my best friend with her boyfriend, and Aaron’s sister with her husband walked down the stairs. They were filming the proposal from upstairs. It was very sweet! We spent the next day with our family celebrating!”

Aaron also made a video of him asking permission from our dog, Kona, before the proposal.

How sweet is that? We love when our couple’s fur babies get to share in the love.

EBR: Aaron what is the one thing you are looking forward to MOST about being married to your bride? And Nikol, to your groom?

Aaron: “The one thing I’m looking forward to most is always having someone I can go to who I know cares about me and loves me. …and I’m looking forward to having a HOT wife and baby mama! ;)”

Nikol: “Not much will change for us when we are officially married BUT I can’t wait to call Aaron my husband.. It just feels so right!”

Can they be any sweeter?
